CAN I MAJOR IN BLACK AND HISPANIC STUDIES?There is no official major in Black and Hispanic Studies, however, our courses may be used in an Ad Hoc Major. The Baruch College Undergraduate Bulletin notes that, “When a student’s educational objectives cannot be fully attained solely by study within an existing department…he or she is given the option of devising an ad hoc pattern of study in an area of concentration of his or her choosing.” This means a student can design a major combining courses in two departments. However, they must first develop, and have approved, a written rationale for the pattern of courses they have selected. |
