Major

A major in Sociology has the following components:

  • Introductory course: SOC 1005 or ANT 1001
  • Foundation courses:
    • SOC/ANT 4100: Sociological Theory and
    • SOC 4110: Research Methods in Sociology and Anthropology
  • Electives: 18 Credits at the 3000-level or above
60% of the courses in your major must be taken at Baruch College.

Minor

A Tier III minor includes:

  • Introductory course: SOC 1005 or ANT 1001
  • Electives: 6 Credits at the 3000-level or above
  • Capstone: SOC 4900: Sociological Analysis
