The Associate Dean and staff work with faculty on curriculum development and with students on appeals. The office is located at:

Vertical Campus
Room 8-265
Phone: (646) 312-3890

Faculty:

Curriculum proposals must be approved by the faculty of the initiating department before they are submitted for consideration by the Weissman School Curriculum Committee. Therefore, please hold the department meeting well in advance of the Curriculum Committee meeting for which you are submitting documents. This will give the Associate Dean's office sufficient time to recommend final corrections in form and copy and distribute materials in advance of the meeting to committee members. Curriculum forms are available for download, and complete instructions are given on this page. The staff of the Associate Dean's Office will be happy to provide guidance.

Students:

Eligibility Review for Your Major (continuing students only):

Current Baruch College students must complete an online Eligibility Review of Your Major form in order to declare an Arts and Sciences major. Baruch undergraduates may submit this form as soon as they have established a 2.0 or higher grade point average. Weissman School students are also required to file a Major/Specialization Form.

Major/Specialization Form:

Every student who is admitted to the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences is required file a Major/Specialization Form in addition to declaring a major, and this should be done before the end of the junior year. The form is to be filled out in consultation with a faculty advisor in the major department. The forms are available online for download. Major/Specialization Forms signed by the faculty advisors are submitted by the major department to the office of the Associate Dean for school approval.

Faculty Advisors:

Available for download: The Spring 2008 list of faculty advisors for Weissman School departments and programs (in pdf format).

Academic Forms:

Students who wish to file academic requests, such as Pass/Fail option and appeals, may download the necessary forms: Academic Forms. Students filing appeals to the Committee on Academic Standing and for reinstatement are advised to contact this office about appropriate documentation. Only students matriculated in the Weissman School may elect to receive a Pass/Fail grade instead of a letter grade in certain courses. Some courses may not be taken with the Pass/Fail option; these are specified in the course descriptions published in the Undergraduate Bulletin.

Additional academic forms are available through the Office of the Registrar.
