BIOGRAPHY


  • Michael Covell is interested in how social processes affect individual goals.  How do instructor goal orientations influence student goals? His current projects involve goal-orientation, regulatory focus, initiating structure and consideration.  He recently applied to the NSF Graduate Fellowship and the Ford Predoctoral Fellowship.  Michael has contributed to research in social psychology, neuroimaging and neuroscience.  While working at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School, he authored a paper on emotional intelligence and decision making.  Prior to joining the academic community, Michael served as a financial representative of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.
