Elena Kosygina received her undergraduate degree in Mathematics at Moscow State University and her PhD in Mathematics at Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. At the end of her studies at NYU she received a Sandra Bleistein prize for notable achievement by a woman in applied mathematics or computer science. She was Ralph Boas Assistant Professor at Northwestern University prior to moving to Baruch College in the Fall of 2002. She is actively involved in Baruch's MFE (Masters in Financial Engineering) program. In 2005 she also joined the Mathematics Department faculty at the CUNY Graduate Center.
Elena Kosygina's current research focuses on long term behavior of some discrete and continuous stochastic processes in random media and involve methods from the theory of probability and stochastic processes, and partial differential equations.
