Global Student Certificate
In the face of globalization, it is necessary for college graduates to be internationally competent, fully comprehending the global integration and interaction of people, governments, and business. The Global Student Certificate program is an interdisciplinary, co-curricular, program for high-achieving undergraduates designed to prepare students for the many faces of globalization. The program is unique in the entire CUNY system, and is especially valuable and well-suited for Weissman students because understanding globalization, its processes and effects, is essential for gaining a better understanding of their roles as global citizens.
The cultural affluence of New York City, the nation's most diverse college setting, offers the perfect theater for the Global Student Certificate program. The program exposes students to world-class cultural centers available nowhere else. In addition, it serves as a platform for combining a rich variety of multicultural student and faculty experiences, with skills development and training through application.
The program's unparalleled menu of top-quality events offers participants a unique opportunity to expand their cultural knowledge, preparing a new generation of leaders who are confident and comfortable in international situations. Among its many other events, the program features four core competency workshops:
- Intercultural awareness training
- Multinational teamwork training
- Cross-cultural negotiations training
- Introduction to Global Governance
Students who participate in the program will be able to take advantage of these benefits:
- Networking training
- Effective presentation skills workshops
- Free Wall Street Journal subscription
- Globalization seminars
- United Nations guided tour and workshop
- Program guidance from GSC coordinator
- Visits to global companies
- Membership in Weissman Center's internship program
- Global Student Certificate program calendar

The Global Student Certificate program is limited to 80 Baruch students. It is free thanks to grants from the Starr Foundation and the Victor Besso Endowment Fund.
