Professor Di Martino joined the English Department in 1998, having previously served as Associate Dean of the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, Coordinator of Teacher Education for the City University of New York and Chair of the Education Department at Baruch. Her current teaching focuses on children studies, including child development, children's and young adults' literature, and primary and secondary education in the urban context. Her research interests center on children's moral and social regulatory thinking in cross-cultural settings, teacher education and education evaluation. She has published numerous articles on these topics.
Prof. Di Martino received the Baruch College Distinguished Teaching Award and has served in numerous College committees. She received her BA in French Education from Syracuse University and MS and PhD degrees from Fordham University.
Professor Di Martino oversees the Education courses, curriculum and faculty at the College. Students interested in teaching and courses in Education are encouraged to meet with her to discuss options in teacher education.
