The Department of English
Corey Mead is Assistant Professor of English, specializing in literacy studies, composition, rhetoric, and creative writing. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Ph.D.), his research focuses on the politics and history of literacy and education. His current project investigates the military's longstanding influence on the forms, functions, and meanings of literacy in American society, and the ways in which this influence is now being made manifest through the military's use of videogames as training tools for its soldiers. Corey teaches a variety of undergraduate writing courses at Baruch.
