Robert J. Myers is an internationally recognized authority on business and professional communication. He is past chair of the Department of Communication Studies and past director of the MA Program in Corporate Communication in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences at Baruch.

Prof. Myers is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the New York Chapter of PRSA. He has co-authored six textbooks on business communication; contributed several chapters to a major handbook on executive communication; published original research on the public speaking of senior corporate leaders; and consulted in business, industry, and government for the past twenty years. He has also served on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Business Communication and the Business Communication Quarterly and is currently the managing editor of both publications.

He served as founding director of the Bernard L. Schwartz Communication Institute at Baruch College (1997-1999) and executive director of the Association for Business Communication (1994-2006), an international professional society housed at Baruch College, with the mission of fostering excellence in business communication research, pedagogy and practice.

Prof. Myers teaches Business Communication, Writing for Public Relations Professionals, and Corporate Communication in the undergraduate program, as well as Corporate Media Relations and the internship course in the graduate program.
