Professor Charles Riley Curates New Taiwanese Art MuseumRiley in Taiwan

Weissman Professor Charles Riley (English Department) curated the 19th-century sculpture wing of a huge new art museum, Chi Mei, in Tainan (Taiwan). While there, he also delivered two public lectures at the National Museum of Taiwanese Literature and worked with the museum staff and the architect to design the installation of a permanent exhibition devoted to Rodin and his students. During the visit he met, in addition to Chi Mei founder and chairman Wen-Long Shi, a number of political and cultural leaders, including Gwhyneth Chen, whose Chopin recording has just won the Taiwanese version of the Grammy Awards.
