Professor Eugene Marlow Addresses Media Ecology Association

Eugene Marlow, Weissman professor of English/Journalism, who earned his Ph.D. in Media Studies at New York University in 1988, has been honored with an invitation to speak at the Tenth Annual Convention of the Media Ecology Association (MEA) about his Jazz in China ©2006 project.

The conference’s theme is “How have technologies and the larger media world altered our experiences of the human soul?” Marlow’s focus will be Jazz in China: The Influence of Technology.

Media Ecology is the study of media environments, the idea that technology and techniques, modes of information and codes of communication play a leading role in human affairs.

The conference was held June 18-21, 2009 at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri.
