NYFA Photography Fellowship to Professor Berkowitz

New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) logoWeissman Professor Terry Berkowitz has been named one of 118 New York State artists to be awarded an unrestricted grant through the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Artists Fellowships, now in its 25th year.  

The winners, representing eight artistic disciplines, were selected from a record of 6,279. The Fellowships were awarded in 16 disciplines. NYFA’s Fellowship program has assisted artists throughout New York State since 1985, awarding more than $26 million to 4,197 artists. 

Previous fellowships recipients have gone on to win Pulitzer Prizes, Tony Awards, Academy Awards, Guggenheim Fellowships, and many other honors. Notable NYFA Fellows have included filmmaker Spike Lee, 2010 Tony Award nominee Donald Margulies, painter Marilyn Minter, and choreographers Eiko and Koma.
