In the Center
One-to-one sessions, by appointment
We'll help you get your ideas onto paper, work with you on grammar issues, and teach you how to avoid plagiarism. We'll help you ask the critical questions that will turn your writing assignments into well-developed papers. You can also come for support in your creative writing pursuits, and to reflect on what characterizes you as a writer and how to build on those strengths. Sessions by appointment are 50 minutes.
One-to-one sessions, walk-in
If need a same-day appointment, we are available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 1-5pm, Tuesday 1-8pm, Friday 10-2pm, and Saturday 11-3pm on a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments are first-come, first-served, and you must remain in the Writing Center in order to hold your place in line for a walk-in appointment. Sessions last 50 minutes.
Small group workshops, by appointment
The Writing Center is pleased to offer small-group workshops to help you develop into a more independent, confident, and versatile writer. Join other motivated students as you discover new tools, practice key skills, and apply flexible strategies you can use in virtually any academic discipline. Each workshop is capped at 12 students and taught by a Writing Center consultant who is also an experienced college-level writing instructor.
This semester, our schedule includes 12 different workshops in four clusters: Reading and Interpretation, Structuring an Argument, Writing with Research, and Revising and Process. Feel free to register for as many workshops as you’d like, in any sequence.
