The TIAA-CREF Retirement and Supplemental Retirement Annuity Program Consultant for instructional staff, Ms. Judith McCaffrey, will be on-site at Baruch College to provide one-on-one counseling sessions on Wednesday March 4 in the Office of Human Resources at 135 East 22nd Street Room 200.

Below is a listing of computer software courses for March 2009 from the Office of Professional Development and Learning Management (CUNY University Training). University Training likes to receive applications at least 10 days before the start of a course, and popular courses do fill up quickly.

Word 2003/2007 Basics

Description: a highly interactive course designed to give participants an introduction to the features of Word 2003. This full-day course will enable users to create, edit, and enhance standard business documents, and to become more comfortable using the software for daily tasks. A brief introduction to Word 2007 also will be presented.

Excel 2003/2007 Basics

Description: participants will learn basic skills for creating, editing, formatting and printing worksheets. An introduction to formulas, functions and using the chart wizard also will be covered, as well as a brief introduction to Excel 2007.

Description: expanding on the basic skills, this workshop will give participants the ability to rotate chart

text, plot data, work with objects, and sort and protect data. Participants will work intensively with formulas and functions

(such as “If” functions) and create headers and footers. (For employees with more thorough knowledge of basic level Excel.)

CAT Youth Presents What Lies Beneath

What lies beneath the exterior? Are we ever who we seem to be? Or, are we buried beneath the secrets that we keep? In this original production, the award-winning CAT Youth Theatre takes us to a graveyard where the voices that haunt us the most aren’t always the voices of the past. Tickets are $15 Adults, and $10 for Students.

MIXED is an award-winning, critically-acclaimed one-person show that examines the lives of interracial people. Winner of the Best Solo Show prize from North Hollywood’s Actors’ Group Theater, each of eight characters shares their unique perspective on what it is to identify with diverse heritage through their fears, confusion, and hopes for being understood. CUNYAC Basketball League Finals

Baruch women’s and men's basketball teams have advanced to the CUNYAC championship finals, to be played at City College on Friday Feb. 27. The women's final begins at 5:30 pm, and the men's game follows at 7 pm. Buses will leave from Baruch College tomorrow afternoon. To reserve a seat, call 646-312-5048/5046.
