Forbes Ranks Baruch College among the Best in the USA

Forbes is the latest publication to name Baruch College among the “best” in the USA. Baruch appeared on three key Forbes’ lists released last week and was ranked as follows:

Best College Buys - #35
Best Public Colleges - #59
America's Best Colleges - #304

The last ranking places Baruch College ahead of both NYU (#355) and Fordham (#343). Baruch also outranked all other CUNY schools, including Brooklyn, Queens, and City College. The Forbes list, according to the editors, ranks the best schools, “from the students’ point of view,” with the United States Military Academy in the #1 spot, ahead of Ivy League stalwarts such as Princeton and Harvard.

Baruch College Students Win Two ECHO Awards

Baruch College students have once again captured two top Collegiate ECHO Awards, presented by The Direct Marketing Education Foundation (DMEF). Two teams of graduate students from the College’s Zicklin School of Business won Silver and Bronze in the annual competition. The awards, which will be presented on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, mine the talent pool of college students entering the booming field of direct/interactive marketing. This year’s challenge was to create a $300,000 integrated multichannel campaign targeting the parents of school-aged children in grades 3-6, using web and viral marketing, blogs, social networks and other media.

Since the program’s inception in 1986, Baruch has won more Collegiate ECHO awards than any other school. In the eight years that the College has competed, including 2009, Baruch students have won five gold, five silver and four bronze trophies in addition to honorable mentions. The full list of winners can be found here.

The Princeton Review Names Baruch One of Best 371 Colleges

The Princeton Review has once again named Baruch College one of the best in America, according to their just-released survey of “The Best 371 Colleges – 2010 Edition.” The popular guide, widely used by parents and high school students, represents only about 15% of the country’s 2,500 four-year colleges and inclusion is prestigious. The Review cites Baruch for its rigorous academics, the “beautiful” Newman Vertical Campus, and “hardworking” students. This is the second year in a row have achieved this distinction.
