Broadway Community Honors Baruch Professor Eric Krebs With The Rosie Award

Eric KrebsAmas Musical Theatre will celebrate its 44th Year with a Gala evening on April 1 that will honor Baruch Professor Eric Krebs with The Rosie Award and will take place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. The evening's host will be Broadway and television star Dan Lauria, who starred in “Lombardi,” “A Christmas Story,” and “The Wonder Years,” The Rosie Award is bestowed on individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary accomplishment and dedication in bringing our world more closely together through the performing arts.

Eric Krebs' theatrical producing career spans more than 40 years. He was the founder and director of Off-Broadway's John Houseman Theater Center and Douglas Fairbanks Theater for over 20 years. He currently operates the Playroom Theater. He has produced more than 20 Off-Broadway shows including “Langston Hughes's Little Ham,” “The Castle,” “Tallulah Hallelujah,” “Golf: The Musical”, “Laughing Liberally”, and several Capitol Steps shows. Baruch Commencement Scheduled for May 30

On Thursday, May 30, Baruch College will celebrate its 48th Commencement Exercises at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets.  Please join your colleagues in an academic procession as we honor our Baruch graduates and their accomplishments on this very auspicious occasion.  Commencement Exercises will begin promptly at 2:30 p.m. and will be followed by a celebratory reception at 5:30 p.m. in the Delta SKY 360 Club located at Citi Field.

Faculty and staff are invited to participate as graduation marshals at the commencement exercises.  The ceremony involves more than 10,000 graduates and guests.  Faculty and staff volunteers are needed to assist with guest and degree candidate seating, crowd control, as well as the robing of faculty and students.  To confirm your attendance at commencement, to volunteer as a marshal and/or to order your academic regalia, please complete the form online by Monday, April 22.  Commencement faculty regalia is available at no cost to members of the faculty and staff.  However, it is important that faculty place their order no later than Monday, April 22. Orders will not be taken after this date.  Faculty and/or staff who request academic regalia after the order deadline date of April 22 will be fitted with whatever gowns are available on the day of Commencement at Citi Field.

Men's Volleyball Sweeps Medgar Evers Twice To Go 8-0 in CUNYACMen's Volleyball

The #8-ranked men’s volleyball team defeated the Cougars of Medgar Evers College twice on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena. The two teams were initially scheduled to play their first match on February 9 at the CUNYAC Multi-Match, but it was postponed by snow. As a result, the postponed match was moved to this evening to play the two conference regular season matches between the two schools. Learn more.

 

Men's Tennis Return to Winning Ways, Defeat St. Joseph's 8-1

The men’s tennis team defeated the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph’s College of Long Island, 8-1, in a non-conference match played on Friday evening in Patchogue, New York. Learn more.


CUNY-TV (Ch. 75) to Broadcast CUNYAC Women's Basketball Championship Sunday at 1:00 pm

The CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) women's basketball championship game between the Baruch College Bearcats and the Brooklyn College Bulldogs will air taped delay on CUNY-TV on Sunday, March 24, at 1:00 pm. CUNY-TV is located on Channel 75 (Time Warner Cable/Cablevision Systems) throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Learn more.

The Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute has invited International visiting scholar Patrick M. Crittenden to offer a fresh perspective on climate change and energy efficiency for the built environment. Crittenden who advised the Australian Federal government on development of their national audit scheme and has consulted to real estate owners as they have conducted energy audits and delivered on reporting obligations under the legislation.
