Comments from Alumni

"SEEK was a home away from home.  The staff served as parents, siblings and mentors.  Through a village of inspirational and supportive people, I was raised to become the success that I am.  They instilled hope, valued dreams and supported development."

Michele H. Brown Nevers, Ed.D, 1983, Marketing Major

"I wrote my first professional resume with the my SEEK counselor, and that resume landed me an internship with a Big 4 accounting firm, which later became a job.  Everything I achieved was made possible because of the SEEK Program, or better said, the SEEK Family.

Ivis D. Calderon, 2004, Accounting Major

"I never just had counselor; I had confidants, sages, muses, and a group of people who wouldn't let me fall through the cracks.  Now I'm working on-air at one of the top radio stations and writing for the Village Voice.  I know the foundation for all of this was SEEK.

David Allen Blanks, 2003, Journalism and English Major
