FIRST YEAR SEMINAR OVERVIEWLogo: Baruch College NSFP (New Student and Family Programs)

First Year Seminar is designed to equip incoming first year students with the tools necessary for a successful transition into the college. Students will be exposed to college resources, academic success strategies, time management and will begin to explore preliminary career plans. Furthermore, First Year Seminar will explore a central thematic idea based on the assigned First Year Text. Students will both be mentored by peer leaders and professional staff but also expected to undertake a series of self-directed learning experiences outside the classroom to assist them with developing self-efficacy while simultaneously providing personal support through their transitional first semester at the college.

New Student & Family Programs at Baruch College seeks qualified emerging higher education student affairs professionals to serve as First Year Seminar Instructors each Fall. For more information please email
