DARE TO ENGAGE RESOURCES
What resources are available at Baruch to assist students who are suicidal
or experiencing a crisis?
Baruch offers multiple support systems for students
who are concerned about themselves or other Baruch students.
- The Baruch College
Counseling Center offers professional counseling and psychotherapy
to all enrolled and registered students. They are located at 137 E. 25th St on
the 9th floor. They can be reached at 646-312-2155.
- The Campus Intervention Team (CIT) provides
assistance to students in crisis. Any member of the college community (faculty,
students, and/or staff) can reach out to the CIT to report a concern about a
student. You can submit a concern online at cit@baruch.cuny.edu or
you can call 646-312-4576.
What on
campus resources would you recommend LGBT students take advantage of?
There are
various student organizations on campus that are a great resource for LGBT students.
For instance G.L.A.S.S (Gay, Lesbian and
Straight Society), and Zicklin Outsource.
as well as the upcoming LGBT Resource Center. LGBT students who have concerns
can also check in with the Counseling Center, the Office
of Student Life as well
as Safe Zone administrators and faculty.
