Melanie HagueMelanie Hague
Lead Teacher/Center Administrator

Melanie holds an M.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College (CUNY). She has a B.M. in Music Education (N-12) from Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, NY, and an M.F.A. in Theatre from Ohio University. She has been teaching at Baruch College Early Learning Center since 1992. She is in the middle of finishing her CPAC certificate (Children’s Program Administrator Certificate). Prior to her teaching tenure, she spent fifteen years as a professional singer and actress. She is a loving aunt to six nieces and nephews, and an attentive stepmother to a daughter, and granddaughter.

 

Patricia MorelPatricia Morel
Administrative Assistant

Patricia received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Baruch College (CUNY) in 2014. She worked at the Student Life office as a student assistant and as the Coordinator.  There she managed budgets, finances, and worked with many students on a daily basis assisting them with all kinds of everyday collegiate issues. She is bilingual (English, Spanish) and baking is her passion.

 

Consuelo GomezConsuelo Gomez
Assistant Teacher

Consuelo has been employed by Baruch College Early Learning Center for ten years, collaborating with teacher teams to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children. She graduated from Secretarial Commerce School in Colombia, South America. She has taken courses in English as a second language at Baruch College. She has completed the requirement for the Child Development Associate credential in Early Childhood Education. Consuelo is a mother to three daughters and is proud to help raise her grandchildren.

 

Sandra ManzanoSandra Manzano
Assistant Teacher

Sandra holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Borough of Manhattan Community College. She completed her internship at the Graduate Child Development and Learning Center. She also worked there as an Assistant Teacher. Sandra has her BA in Psychology from City College (CUNY) and is doing her post graduate work in social work at Hunter College (CUNY).

 

Yanil RosaYanil Rosa
Lead Teacher

Yanil received a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lehman College. She has completed internships at the CUNY Graduate Center and Bank Street Head Start and has worked at Baruch College Early Learning Center since 2001. She is pursuing her Master’s degree in Special Education with bilingual extension at Lehman College and has her Provisional NYS Certification in ECE birth to 8 years old. Yanil has also done volunteer work at the Jewish Home and Hospital’s Day Center.

 

Eligio ReynosoEligio Reynoso
Woodworking Teacher

Leo has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts. He currently works at Manhattan Country School where he has been teaching shop since 1987. He has experience working with various art institutions: The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Children’s Museum as an artist and sculptor, participated in designing large scale murals and recreating artificial rocks and terrain for the Snow Leopard Habitat Complex in the Bronx. During the summer he runs a tennis summer camp serving over 200 students from upper Manhattan and the Bronx.

 

Jacob PevsnerJacob Pevsner
Music Teacher

Jacob Pevsner graduated from Minsk Music Conservatory in 1974, where he majored in choral conducting and music education. He has been performing music in many venues ranging from concert halls to hospitals. He also has been working as a piano teacher for almost two decades, specializing in early education. Jacob is married to his college sweetheart, and is a proud father of two sons, both of whom have been trained as classical violinists.
