GREEK LIFE AT BARUCH COLLEGE
Message from Dr. Corlisse Thomas
Baruch College Inter-Greek Council Advisor
Dear Students:
Baruch students are a dynamic and diverse group. Our Greek
community is a
reflection of the leadership ability and talent that characterizes
our student population. This brochure offers you a listing of
Baruch’s Greek Honor Societies and a description of the
Greek Letter Organizations on our campus. As you explore membership
in these organizations, you should be aware that Greek life is
a vibrant part of our college
community. Greek organizations at Baruch are at the forefront
of community service and leadership in student organizations.
Historically, the members of Greek
organizations continue their campus involvement by becoming leaders
in their chosen career field after graduation. A survey of our
nation’s most prominent figures reveals that many are members
of Greek organizations.
Greek organizations also offer members an opportunity to develop
a community that is supportive of the academic, personal and
career success of its members. Members are often lifelong friends
who share their successes and challenges and help one another
to excel.
Each Greek organization is different so take some time to
determine which one is right for you. Ask questions, meet members,
attend events and select the group that will allow you to grow
as an individual and a member. Becoming a part of Greek life
at Baruch is an important decision that can offer you a rich
and memorable college
experience.
Sincerely,
Corlisse Thomas, Ed.D.
