GRADUATION ELIGIBILITY
You must file an Application for Degree form with the Registrar's Office by March 3, 2008 in order to be eligible to graduate and for your name to appear in the commencement program. Only an official notification from the Registrar's Office should be accepted as a definitive statement of your graduation. Receipt of a commencement letter from Student Life does not signify that you have fulfilled all your academic requirements and does not indicate that you are eligible to graduate.

FILING DEADLINES
The deadline for receipt of your order is Friday, April 4, 2008.
To order Commencement tickets & cap and gown, complete a cap & gown/ticket request form and mail it with a check or money order for your cap & gown to:

Commencement 2008
Baruch College Student Life

New York, NY 10010-5585

TIME & PLACE
Baruch College will hold its Forty-Third Commencement Exercises on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Madison Square Garden (MSG), on Seventh Avenue at W. 32nd Street. We have requested the main Arena to enable us to hold one combined undergraduate and graduate ceremony at 11:00 a.m. This will assure an adequate number of guest tickets for all graduates. The use of the Arena depends upon whether the New York Knicks or the New York Rangers are in their respective playoffs or whether there will be a major concert event. That will not be decided until later this Spring.

CONFIRMED: In the alternative, we are making plans for two complete commencement ceremonies, with both undergraduates and graduates at each, in The Theater at Madison Square Garden. The morning ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. and the afternoon ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. Each candidate for degree will be given the opportunity to attend the ceremony of their choice on a first come, first served basis until maximum seating capacity has been met at each ceremony. Graduates will be notified of the ceremony that they will attend together with final instructions at the time of Cap & Gown and Ticket Distribution in May.

CAPS & GOWNS
Participants in the Commencement Exercises must wear appropriate academic attire. To make necessary arrangements for the cap, gown and hood, please complete the appropriate cap & gown order/ticket request form.

STUDENTS: Be sure to indicate which degree you are receiving (Undergrads - BA, BBA or BS; Grads - MA, MBA, MPA, MS, etc.). Measure your height while wearing heels of the same height that you will wear to the exercises.

The entire academic attire is yours to keep. If for any reason you choose not to attend the ceremony, you may make a written request for a refund by May 16, 2008. (Note: No refunds will be issued after commencement. Caps and Gowns that are not picked up are returned to the manufacturer on the day of commencement.)

FACULTY: Please go to the Faculty Info page.

PAYMENT: Payment can be made by CHECK or MONEY ORDER ONLY in the appropriate amount (see below), payable to Baruch College Association, Inc. Do NOT mail cash!

Undergrads: $36.00
Grads: $38.00
Faculty: Please go to the Faculty Info page

DISTRIBUTION
Caps and gowns will be distributed in the Newman Vertical Campus, Multipurpose Room 1-107, on:

Tuesday, May 20 between Noon and 7:00 p.m., and on
Wednesday, May 21 between Noon and 7:00 p.m.

These are the only hours for cap & gown distribution. If you cannot pick up your cap & gown during the above hours, you may have a friend or relative do so with a note authorizing them to receive your academic attire, and a photocopy of your ID card. Faculty, please go to the Faculty Info page.

TICKETS
Tickets for admission to the Commencement Exercises are limited only to guests of participants in the academic procession. The graduating student does not need a ticket for her/himself. Students will receive three (3) guest tickets if the ceremonies take place in the Theater or five (5) guest tickets if the ceremony is in the Arena.

DISTRIBUTION
Tickets will be distributed in the Newman Vertical Campus, Multipurpose Room 1-107 on Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 21 during the same hours as cap & gown distribution (noon to 7 p.m.). If you cannot pick up your tickets during the above hours, follow the procedures described for cap & gown distribution.

SENIOR CLASS GIFT
It is an annual tradition for the graduating class to present a gift, such as benches or trees, to the Baruch community. If you would like to contribute, please visit the 2008 Senior Class Gift page.
