Admissions

Steps to Apply:

  1. Fill out the online application form by clicking here by  MAY 15TH, 2013.
    • If you are applying to our residential program, you must fill out our housing application by clicking here.
  2. Complete and submit supplemental forms:
    • Two Letters of Recommendation
    • High School Transcript
    • Parent/Guardian Agreement
    • Heath & Medical Form
    • If you are applying as an international student you must also fill out the following documents:
      1. Applicants must provide sufficient financial documentation to cover all program costs ($6,000 USD) for the J-1 Visa application.
      2. Applicants must submit proof of health insurance. Health insurance is a mandatory component of the J-1 Visa. The following are health insurance plans that can be purchased for the three week period that students will be attending the Academy:

    *Please note that the Academy does not endorse any particular health insurance provider.

  3. Submit a $250.00 USD deposit fee in the form of a check payable to Baruch College. Please note that the deposit fee is refunded to students who do not gain admission to the competitive Academy.
  4. Mail supplemental forms and deposit to:

  5. Students will receive an official admissions decision letter 2-4 weeks after their entire application is submitted.

*Please note that the application deadline for Summer 2013 is due April 15th, 2013. All applications are evaluated on a rolling basis.

 

Steps to take if admitted to the program:

  1. Admitted international students will receive an admissions package including a DS-2019 form along with instructions regarding how to pay the SEVIS fee.
  2. Students will set up an appointment to be interviewed at the US Embassy.  Students must bring their passport, required photos, SEVIS fee receipt, acceptance letter, proof of financial documentation, proof of insurance payment, evidence of their home country, and any other documents required by the embassy or consulate.
  3. After you receive your approved J-1 Visa, you are required to submit a copy of the documentation to our office. Please mail this copy to:

  4. The Academy will mail you a confirmation that the J-1 Visa has been received along with your Welcome Packet.
