Admission General Information

The School of Public Affairs at Baruch College welcomes applications from those individuals dedicated to careers serving the public interest. Though only ten years old, the school consistently ranks among the top programs in the United States. It is also the only public school of Public Affairs in New York City. Admission is competitive, and we encourage applicants to apply early since a rolling admissions process is used.

We invite prospective students to attend one of our Open House sessions to meet with faculty and current students, and to learn about the overall philosophy of the school. Additionally, Information Sessions will be made available to those who would like an overview of our programs and a campus tour. For reservations please e-mail
spa admissions or call (646) 660-6750/6757. We look forward to seeing you soon!

The School of Public Affairs uses a self-managed procedure for applications to the Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Education (MSED), and Advanced Certificate Program in Educational Administration and Supervision (SAS). Applicants request official transcripts of previous academic work and letters of recommendation to be returned to them in signed, sealed envelopes. These are then sent together with the applicant’s essay(s), resume, admission application form in a single envelope to the School of Public Affairs Graduate Admissions Office. Note: GRE and TOEFL scores must be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
