Description of Trainings at CEL:
Hochman Method 1: This is an introductory course in the Hochman method. It meets for 16 hours over four days, from 9am until 1pm. It provides an overview of the theory underlying the Hochman method and an introduction to sentence- and organizational-level strategies. It is appropriate for school teams (teachers and/or administrators) from K-12. It is offered in two locations: Baruch College (Manhattan, NY) and New Dorp High School (Staten Island, NY).
- Option 1: Baruch College, four Wednesdays (9am-1pm), 2/27, 3/6, 3/13 and 3/20.
- Option 2: New Dorp High School, four Saturdays (9am-1pm), 1/12, 2/9, 3/9 and 4/13.
Hochman Method 2: This is an intermediate course for school teams (teachers and/or administrators) who have begun to implement or are ready to implement the Hochman method in a school or classroom. Hochman Method 1 is a pre-requisite. This course meets for 15 hours over five days, from 9am until noon. The first hour of each session involves deep training in core program strategies. During the second two hours, each team works with a Hochman Method consultant to receive individualized, targeted support regarding implementation of the program at their specific site.
