Over the past few decades the role of the arts in preparing students to be "well-rounded" individuals has been acknowledged. Increased exposure to the arts is credited with improving students' critical thinking skills, broadening their perspectives, and helping them to explore and to identify who they are and what they want to accomplish.

The Museums and Higher Education in the 21st Century: Collaborative Methods and Models for Innovation Conference seeks to share ideas and experiences as well as present an opportunity for participants to learn about innovative programs designed to enrich students' higher education experience through engagement with the arts.
