Sanders Korenman, an economist, has been a member of the SPA faculty since 1996. He served as Senior Economist for labor, welfare, and education for President Clinton’s Council of Economic Advisers and was a member of the Board on Children, Youth, and Families of the National Academy of Sciences. He is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. His recent research includes studies of the measurement of child care quality and analyses of the USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program. He has completed reports with SPA MPA graduates Shannon Fales (in 2011) and Rick Hoffman (in 2010) for the Bureau of Maternal, Infant and Reproductive Health, New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. He teaches courses in the Economic Analysis of Public Policy, Public Finance, Poverty and Social Welfare Policy, and Research Methods. He received his PhD from Harvard University and his AB from the University of California, Berkeley, both in Economics.
