Requirements for Admission to the Major

The criteria for admission into the Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs (BSPA) is as follows:

Completion of the following 9 courses with a gpa of at least 2.25:

PUB 1250       Public Administration

POL 2332       American Political Thought

COM 1010      Speech Communication

ENG 2100       Writing I

ENG 2150       Writing II

MTH 2003      Precalculus

STA 2100 or STA 2000 Business Statistics I or Statistics for Social Science

ECO 1001       Microeconomics

CIS 2200        Intro to Information Systems and Technologies

NOTE: ECO 1002 and LAW 1101 are NOT required for admission into the BSPA.

Once these requirements have been met, students should fill out the online Eligibility Review for Your Major form or email Jennifer.Harrington@baruch.cuny.edu. Once they have been approved for the major, they may declare their major officially (086) and begin taking major courses.
