United Way of New York City (UWNYC) Junior Fellows Program

The UWNYC Junior Fellows Program is designed to provide professionals from New York City-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations who have two or more years of experience in the nonprofit sector with a strong foundation in both the theory and practice of nonprofit management. The program is intended to assist these professionals in the development of their own leadership style, while giving them management tools that they can immediately use to add value to their organizations and communities.

UWNYC Curriculum

All sessions are taught in a participatory fashion suitable for adult learners--featuring case studies, practice exercises and the opportunity to learn from other nonprofit professionals in the cohort. Leading the sessions are professors at the School of Public Affairs, Baruch College, CUNY, described by US News and World Report as among the "Best Graduate Schools/Public Affairs Programs." The program's curriculum is comprised of 10 weekly seminars on topics that include:

Mission, Strategy and Management in the Nonprofit Organizations
Budgets and Accounting
Advocacy and Government Relations
Organizational Diagnosis
Management and Leadership
Human Resources
Performance Measurement
Working with Technology
Capstone
