Reconstructing the Division of Behavioral Health at Kings County Medical Center

A team from the School of Public Affairs is investigating organizational structures and protocols at Kings County Medical Center's behavioral medicine unit to help improve the unit's functioning. Drawing upon the expertise of the schools health policy and management faculty, as well as the in-house resources of the schools Baruch Survey Research Unit, the SPA team will be interviewing hundreds of staff members at Kings County either face to face or via computer survey, and the working with staff to create a new mission and organizational structure. The project, slated for completion in spring, 2009, is a response to long-running problems at the unit which have depleted staff morale and undermined the quality of patient services. This program will be housed in the Office of Executive Programs.
