LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Greater New York Hospital Association
Health Care Leadership Institute
The Greater New York Hospital Association (GYNHA) Health Care Leadership Institute offers a professional development program to outstanding minority professionals in the GNYHA universe to prepare them for executive positions in hospital administration. The program is a product of the work of the GNYHA Advisory Task Force on Diversity in Health Care Leadership.
The goal of the program is to work with particular managers in the participating hospitals who have already shown talent and accomplishment in the work they have done and have demonstrated a real desire to reach further in their careers. The program will seek to enhance participants' ability to cope systematically with unpredictable change, to master the intricacies of healthcare finance, to learn more deeply about technologies, to vary their skills of communication, to understand innovation and its use as a management tool – all toward becoming qualified to lead at the executive level of hospitals and hospital systems.
Topics covered are:
- Orientation and Team Building
- Shaping the Current Environment of Health Care Delivery
- Communication, Culture and Leadership
- The Organization and Management of Hospital Systems
- Technology in Health Care Organizations
