National Urban Fellows
National Urban Fellows MPA Program Through its leadership development programs, National Urban Fellows, Inc. has successfully prepared over 900 mid-career men and women of all ethnic and racial backgrounds for
leadership and management positions in the public, private and nonprofit
sectors. Fellows are exposed to a unique combination of academic
training and hands-on experience in a nine-month mentorship with a
prominent public official, administrator or manager.
Program
Design: National Urban Fellows is a rigorous 14-month, full-time
graduate program comprised of two semesters of academic course work and a
nine-month mentorship, leading to a Master of Public Administration (MPA)
degree from Baruch College/ City University of New York. An MPA degree is awarded to Fellows
upon completion of all academic and program requirements.
Curriculum Structure:

First Summer Semester - Students will begin their first
semester of classes at Baruch College.
Nine Month Mentorship Assignment - Students begin working
at selected mentor sites. Classes will be
conducted online during this phase of the program. Placements are nationwide
and Fellows are expected to relocate to the
city of their assignment.
Mid-Year Academic Conference - Students will attend a three-day intensive seminar in January.
Final Summer Semester - Students return to Baruch for a
final semester of classes.
