Supplemental instruction (umkc.edu.cad.si)

SACC regularly offers SI review sessions to help students perform well in historically difficult courses. This fall SACC will offer at least five sections of SI. Check back at a later time to this site for the specifics.

Q. What is SI?
A. Supplemental instruction is known around the world as a highly effective learning modality. SI review sessions are attached to historically difficult courses to provide additional academic assistance for students. Review sessions are conducted by a review leader who is an upper classman who has been trained in SI learning techniques. He/she sits in on all class lectures and once or twice a week meets with students of the class to help them master the material as well as assisting them in preparing to take tests, completing assignments, and learning skills needed to perform well.

Fact: Students who regularly participate in SI for the duration of the semester typically receive one half to a full grade higher than those who do not.

If you are enrolled in any one of the courses listed below and would like to regularly participate in SI sessions, please complete the form below and e-mail it to SACC.
