| Q.
What is SI? |
| A.
Supplemental
instruction is known around the world as a highly effective learning
modality. SI review sessions are attached to historically difficult
courses to provide additional academic assistance for students. Review
sessions are conducted by a review leader who is an upper classman
who has been trained in SI learning techniques. He/she sits in on
all class lectures and once or twice a week meets with students of
the class to help them master the material as well as assisting them
in preparing to take tests, completing assignments, and learning skills
needed to perform well. |
| |
| Fact:
Students who regularly participate in SI for the duration of the semester
typically receive one half to a full grade higher than those who do
not. |
