Student Academic Consulting Center (SACC)
SACC accepts applications year round for all disciplines. For consideration for the Fall 2017 semester, the application submission cut-off date is August 18, 2017.
To be eligible to become a tutor you must:
1. Have completed 24 local credits
2. Have a GPA of at least 3.3
3. Have received “A’s” in the subjects that you would like to tutor
4. Be willing to participate in regular tutor training sessions
A complete application consists of the application form and two faculty recommendations. Application forms can be submitted in person or by mail to SACC, NVC 2-116 or as an email attachment to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please ask each professor to place his/her completed referral in a signed, sealed envelope and then give it to you to bring to SACC. Faculty that would like to submit their recommendation via email should follow the instructions on the form.
Applicants interested in tutoring Math are required to pass an assessment exam with a minimum score of 80. To view sample final exams that can help you prepare for the assessment, click on the Resources link on the left.
If you are interested in tutoring a Modern Language of which you are a native-speaker, but have not taken classes in that language at Baruch, you must obtain a recommendation direclty from the Modern Languages Department.
