Grading Procedures
and Information from the Registrar

The deadline for grade submission is 72 hours after the final exam.
Grading Systems
(Items with red highlighting
may only be entered by the Registrar's Office.)
| INC | INCOMPLETE TERM WORK | Students who for valid reason do not complete the work assigned (including final exams, papers etc.) when the students has earned an average term grade of 50% or better and in your view has a reasonable chance to pass the course. INC requires % of work completed, grade earned to date, and the work to be completed, i.e; 85%, B, missed final. |
| AUD | AUDITOR | The student must have requested the status of auditor at the start of the semester. If a student in your course officially applied for auditor's status, a grade of " AUD " will appear in the grade column. This grade cannot be assigned by the Instructor. |
| P | SATISFACTORY COMPLETION | The grade of P can be used for undergraduate students in the Weissman School of Arts &
Sciences who have been approved for pass/fail option by the third week of classes or noncredit or tutorial courses (e.g.
ENG 0132, CSTM 0130). Please refer to Undergraduate Guide to Academic Policies and Procedure in the Undergraduate Bulletin. |
| W | OFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL | Without penalty. If a student in your course OFFICIALLY withdrew by the due date, a grade of " W " will appear in the grade column. |
| WA | ADMINISTRATIVE WITHDRAWAL | Student did not comply
with immunization requirements. THE STUDENT MUST COMPLY WITH IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS or the "WA" GRADE WILL BE PERMANENT - NO GRADE CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED . Faculty must add a proposed grade to the comments field of Webgrade. |
| WU | UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL | Assigned by the faculty at any time before taking the final exam. Equivalent to "F". (Instructors must submit the last date of attendance) |
| R | UNSATISFACTORY WORK FOR REMEDIAL COURSE | R can be assigned as a final grade for remedial noncredit courses or tutorial courses only (e.g. ENG 0132, CSTM 0130) in lieu of "F" or " INC ". |
| Y | An intermediate grade assigned after the first of a two semester, or the first two of a three-semester, Honors sequence to signify work in progress. (Honors courses numbered 6001, 6002, 6003). The Y grade is not included in calculating the grade point average. Each Y grade is replaced by an appropriate letter grade when the sequence has been completed. |

| Academic Integrity (Z) |
Purposeful | Grade is under review for infractions compromising academic integrity. |
Note: Grade sheet cannot be processed with blank grades.
Students not listed on roster: Students not appearing on the class roster must be referred to the Office of the Registrar. Until the student is actually registered, grade(s) cannot be assigned.
