Q.What classes are being offered in Winter session?

Q. How do I register for Winter 2011 Courses?
A. Online registration for winetr session will be available from November 11, 2010 to January 3, 2011. Login to your eSIMS account through CUNY Portal and select registration for “Fall 2010”. Winter session is considered as second session of Fall semester. (Click here for registration dates by group)
If you’re a visiting student from another college or university, please create a “visitor” eSIMS account at http://portal.cuny.edu. Then, login and select registration for “Fall 2010.” Baruch considers the Winter 2011 session as the second session to the Fall 2010 semester. Note that the first registration day for visiting students is December 1. Please consult the table below for more detail.

* All non-degree, permit and re-entry applications must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar by the application due date. All permit and non-degree students will be able to register online once their applications are processed. Application processing time is 5-7 business days.
Q. Will I receive the bill for Winter session in the mail?
A. No. Your bill will be available on eSIMS. You may also pick up a copy of your bill from the Bursar’s Office.
Q. Is online payment available for Winter session?
A. Yes. Login to your eSIMS account through CUNY Portal and select 'Semester Bill'.
Q. How many courses may I register during Winter session?
A. Students in good academic standing are allowed to register for two courses for Winter session. Students on probation (both undergraduate and graduate) are allowed to register for one course only. Graduate students who have taken all 12 probation credits as of the Fall 2010 semester are not permitted to register for the Winter session and should submit an appeal to the Graduate Committee on Academic Standing meeting to register for courses in the Spring 2011 semester.
Graduate students who were previously reinstated by the Graduate Committee on Academic Standing are not permitted to register for the Winter session, or Spring 2011 until grades have been received to determine if the reinstatement conditions have been met. Graduate students who are on academic probation, and have used up to 9 of the allowable 12 probation credits as of the Fall 2010 can register for one course, 3 credits, in the Winter 2011 session pending receipt of Fall 2010 grades. An appeal for reinstatement must be submitted to the Graduate Committee on Academic Standing meeting to take courses in the Spring 2011 semester in the event that a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, or reinstatement condition has not been achieved.
Q. May I participate in the Study Abroad Program during Winter session?

Q. Can I take permit courses outside of Baruch during Winter session?
A. Yes. (click here for application deadline)
- Students who intend to take classes at a non CUNY school, Outgoing Permit Applications Instructions are available at the Registrar’s Office and also on the web site. Completed applications, signed by an academic department advisor may be mailed or brought in to the Registrar's Office. The processing period for the application is 3-5 business days. Students are responsible to pick up your outgoing permit application from the Registrar’s Office. Once the above procedure is completed, take them to your Host College and register.
- Students who intend to go to another CUNY school must submit the request through http://epermit.cuny.edu
Through e-Permit, students can file an online request and it will be processed online. Students are kept informed of the progress of their permit request throughout the approval process. If a request is rejected, a student will be notified electronically of the reason for the disapproval.
Q. If I satisfy all requirements for graduation during the Winter session, can I graduate in February 2011?
A. Yes. If the classes taken during the Winter session complete the requirements for graduation, students are eligible for February 2011 graduation. Students must submit their graduation application by November 3, 2010. (Application for Graduation)
Q. I am an International Student. Do I have to register for Winter session?
A.Winter session is an optional semester. International students are not required to register during Winter session to maintain their status.
Q. What is the tuition for Winter session?
A. Students are charged per credit for Winter session classes. Following is the tuition for Winter session:

Q. Are there fees involved beside the tuition for Winter session?
A. Yes.
- If you are already registered as a full time student for Fall 2010 semester you will not be charged any extra fees.
- If you are registered as a part time student for Fall 2010, and also register for Winter session, and the combined credits are less than 12, you will not be charged any extra fees.
- If you are registered as a part time student for Fall 2010, and also register for Winter session, and the combined credits equal to 12 or more credits, you will be charged the full time Technology fee.
- If you did not register for Fall 2010 semester and registering for the Winter session 2011, you will be charged the Activity fee, Consolidated Service fee and the Technology fee for part time students.
Q. Will the AMS Payment plan be available for Winter session Courses?
A. No.
Q. If I register and decide not to attend courses for Winter session, what should I do?
A. You must drop your classes for Winter session if you decide not to attend. A refund may be paid. The amount depends on when you drop the class. Check the Academic Calendar for Winter 2011
Q. If I register for 3 credits in Winter session and 9 credits in Fall 2010 am I considered a full time students?
A. No. Winter session is an optional semester. Registering for Winter session does not change your registration status for Fall.
Q. I am an International Student. Do the credits taken during Winter session count towards the credits that I have to take during Spring Semester?
A. No. Winter session is an optional semester. Registering for Winter session does not change your registration status for Fall or Spring.
