SUBJECT: How an Integrated Approach to Creating Sustainable Interiors Can Cut Costs at a Time When Savings Matter More Than Ever
With an impressive panel of skilled professionals who helped plan, design, create and/or develop the new World Trade Center site and its surrounding context, this conference will look to the promising future of the emerging Lower Manhattan and the economic, community, development, and cultural implications of its continued growth.
In the ten years since the disaster of 9/11, the rebuilding of the World Trade Center has been an ongoing effort of a number of government agencies, private development participants and civic organizations. Especially over the last 18-24 months, much has been accomplished about which the general public is not aware - key design decisions, major infrastructure, foundation, below grade construction, memorial plaza and museum construction – and now as buildings 1 and 4 are emerging from the ground, the shape of the final complex is beginning to be apparent.
Looking forward, not backward, this day-long open presentation and discussion is a culmination of a series of New York New Visions sponsored events focused on Lower Manhattan. Join this opportunity to look beyond the current status of development to what are remaining issues and what 9/11/2021 will promise.
