Emotions in Organizations
Lab
The emotions in organizations lab examines the role of emotions in motivating behavior in work organizations. Sample projects we are currently working on are envy in organizations and being happy for the other’s success (firgun) as motivating work behavior. A separate line of research we are currently involved in deals with the relationship between emotions and decision-making, especially stock-market decisions. We are also interested in additional discrete emotions, such as jealousy, guilt, and fear, as affecting and being affected by various organizational behaviors and practices (such as work performance and leadership, respectively). We also conduct research examining issues of fairness in organizations, especially the relationship between fairness and emotions.
