Professor Nita Lutwak

I am a counseling psychologist, with training in psychanalytic processes. I teach courses in : Psychology of Life Experience, Abnormal Psychology, Personality, and recently Child Development. My research interests have focused on a confluence of several areas: Shame and guilt and it's impact on areas of psychological functioning; self-blame; fear of intimacy; and social anxiety. Recently I've been looking at if (and how) interpersonal tools can effect social anxiety, social avoidance and interpersonal behavior. We work in research teams with doctoral students and undergraduates who volunteer their time in order to learn about research and the variations of Murphy's Law.
