Dear Colleagues,

Students and instructors have a right to the full amount of time allotted for their exams. During that period, please do not interrupt an exam by entering the room in which your exam is scheduled for the next slot. It's easy enough to imagine a scenario whereby our exams begin a few minutes after the assigned time through no fault of our own. We all want to give students the full two hours for the exam—and allow for orderly pick-up of the finished exams. So if you find that the instructor in the exam room needs a few extra minutes, please be as accommodating as you can. Of course, the entering class and instructor also have a right to enter the room in a timely fashion. There is no fixed rule but when there are 30 minutes between schedule exams, the turnover should occur after 15 minutes at the very latest.

With regard to finishing your own exam on time and to entering a room in which an exam is ending, please be respectful and accommodating.
