A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM - An All-Baruch Production
Tuesday - Saturday, November 14 - 18, at 7:30pm
Matinee on Thursday, Nov 16, at 12:30pm (club hours)
Bernie West Theater, 17 Lexington Avenue, Ninth Floor
From: Eric Krebs, Department of Fine and Performing Arts
Baruch’s Fine and Performing Arts Department presents Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed by Professor Christopher Scott. The Bard's farcical, trippy tale of love gone haywire, in which mortals mix it up with magical beings, features a cast of Baruch students and recent graduates.
In a world filled with death threats, drugs, beastiality and broken hearts, this contemporary spin starts in “Athens,” the suburbs of NYC, and ends up where everyone gets lost in "The Wild Woods” of the East Village. There they encounter Glam Punk/ Downtown New York Street Art Scene fairies in the dark, dangerous, and magical East Village, a long, long time before gentrification.
ALL SEATS are $10.
Purchase at the Baruch Box Office on the ground floor of the Vertical Campus or at the door.
Box office info: 646 312 5073.
The production runs 85 minutes.
In the end: "Jack shall have Jill; Nought shall go ill; The man shall have his mare again, and all shall be well."
