This email is being sent to all members of the Baruch College faculty.

For an archive of announcements sent from the Provost’s Office beginning June 2011, see http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/provost/archive.htm

Dear Colleagues,

The college’s Joint Committee on Student Evaluation of Courses and Teaching has been discussing changes to our evaluation “instrument” and procedures since spring 2011. (The current system has been in effect since fall 2005.) Some of you might recall that we circulated a survey about evaluations in fall 2011. Another was circulated to students this past fall. The committee has now drafted suggested changes based on the results of those surveys for discussion by the faculty at large. Some of these changes were mentioned at the faculty senate on February 7, and the senate has created a website with a variety of relevant documents representing the work of the committee:  http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/facultysenate/StudentEvaluations.htm.

Per the message on that site, all comments and suggestions would be welcome. Please send them to Vanessa.Cano@baruch.cuny.edu.

We expect that there will be opportunity to discuss these at the next two plenary meetings of the senate: March 7 and April 4.

The membership of the committee may be seen at  http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/facultyhandbook/JointStudEvalComm.htm.
