Data Science in Investment Banking

Tuesday, November 24, 12:45-2:15pm, NVC 14-280

From: Professor Radhika Jain, Computer Information Systems

Abstract: Despite accumulating a wealth of data on capital market transactions, trades, and financial markets, the investment banks have been slower to embrace Data Science than other businesses (e.g., consumer retail, technology, and even retail banking). Senior executives want to enhance how they use data to raise profitability, map out markets, and ultimately win more trades/deals. This talk addresses challenges faced by different lines of business in JP Morgan Chase and Co. (JPM) Corporate Investment Banking and how Data Science can help transform their business models.
