From: Prof. Eric Krebs (FPA) and the Baruch Performing Arts Center (BPAC)
Julian Schlossberg, veteran film and Broadway theater producer had an idea. He would videotape all the influential figures who had shaped the Twentieth Century and weave these accounts into a decade by decade chronology as told by the history makers themselves. It was a race against time. These legends were, for the most part, well past 75. Julian wanted to convince 150 of them to share their unique points of view. For several, this would turn out to be their last interview. Amazingly, Presidents, Generals, newscasters, ambassadors archbishops, Governors, Senators, Congressmen, journalists, authors, playwrights, cabinet members, actors, singers, architects and titans of industry all said yes..... Some agreed to 30 minutes and stayed for hours. To a person, they were candid and brought unexpected insight into the events that shaped the world that we live in today. The award winning writer, Elaine May (Birdcage, Primary Colors) has written the commentary.
Among the completed interviews are: Sec. Madeline Albright, Buzz Aldrin, Robert Altman, Sec. General Kofi Annan, Lauren Bacall, Joan Baez, F. Lee Bailey, Sec. James Baker, Ben Bradlee, Tom Brokaw, Helen Gurley Brown, Pat Buchanan, Art Buchwald, William F. Buckley, Jr., Pres. George H.W Bush.... and that is just the start of the alphabet!
Julian has completed the first five of fourteen 45 minute segments which include interviews, film clips, stills, archival footage and newsreels . These were shown in June for the first time in New York City to turn-away full houses and extremely positive response. Now they will be shown a second time at the Baruch College Performing Arts Center at 55 Lexington Ave (enter on 25 Street, East of Lexington Avenue).
Thurs., Sept. 27, Thurs. Oct. 4 and Tues., Oct. 9 , all at 6:00 PM. FREE ADMISSION
