From: STARR Career Development Center
Dear Faculty and Staff,
The Starr Career Development Center is organizing an educational/fundraising event called Suit Up for Success, to be held in mid-March 2016. The event will raise money for Relay for Life (American Cancer Society), while teaching students about business formal and business casual attire. In order to help prepare students for upcoming interviews, job fairs, and entry into the working world, we are asking faculty and staff to donate lightly worn and freshly cleaned business attire and professional clothes. In addition, students can swap their old clothes for new clothes or purchase clothes for a small donation.
We would appreciate any lightly worn business attire that you would like to donate. We are especially in need of small sizes but will gladly accept all sizes. Items should all be in good condition and freshly laundered/dry cleaned prior to their drop off.
Acceptable donations include professional looking:
- Ties/Scarves - Pants/Slacks
- Blouses - Pants Suit
- Dress Shirts - Skirt Suit
- Blazers/Cardigans - Skirts
- Winter Coats - New Stockings (in package)
Donations can be brought to the Starr Career Development Center, NVC 2-150, between now and noon on Tuesday, March 8th during normal business hours of 9am-5pm Monday and Friday and 9am-7pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. All monetary proceeds from this event will go to Relay for Life (American Cancer Society) and the left over clothes will be donated to local charities around the Baruch campus. Should you wish, we would be happy to provide you with a tax receipt for your donations. You may call receptionist to arrange delivery at 646-312-4670.
This event is being co-sponsored by Peers for Careers, one of STARR’s student leadership programs, along with SEEK and several notable student clubs and organizations on campus.
Thank you in advance for your assistance and generosity.
