From:  Bill Ferns (Department of Statistics / Computer Information Systems)

Our friend and colleague, Steve Andrus, passed away suddenly in early December. Steve came to Baruch in the early 1990s as an adjunct and then as a substitute instructor with the Department of Statistics / Computer Information Systems. He later worked full-time at the BCTC for several years before going into private industry. Steve later returned to Baruch as a consultant on the DegreeWorks project, and was again teaching classes for the CIS program when he passed away.

In recent years, Steve had delved deeply into digital photography (see http://www.flickr.com/photos/stephenandrusphotographs/). Steve had a deep appreciation for the ambivalent, the contradictory, the ironic, and the edgy. He expressed this appreciation of the world's ambiguity with an uncanny and precise photographic vision, and he shared that vision freely with many.

There will be a one-day exhibition and remembrance at Baruch College in celebration of Steve's life and work:

Stephen P. Andrus Photographic Exhibition & Remembrance
Date: Thursday, February 7th
Time of Exhibition: 12 noon to 8 pm
Remembrance: 5 pm - 7 pm
