Baruch College Provost’s Fund to Support Faculty Research and Teaching Initiatives, 2016-17
The Office of the Provost will award support of $5,000 to subsidize faculty defined initiatives that will promote, enhance, and fuel faculty research and teaching at the College, especially interdisciplinary and collaborative research and teaching conducted by faculty from different schools. The initiatives may include short-term seminars that are led by external experts, symposia and colloquia, speaker series, and special exhibitions. Applicants for these funds must consider not only the way in which the event(s) will enrich the intellectual life of the College but also the ways in which they will further the research and teaching agendas of participating faculty.
In the 2016-17 academic year, the Office of the Provost will confer two awards, one in Fall 2016 and one in Spring 2017. Proposals will address one of the following themes drawn from the Baruch College Strategic Plan:
- Globalization and the global university
- Technology deployed for teaching and learning
Eligibility: all full-time professorial faculty, and preferably two or more faculty from different departments and/or different schools.
Application: A complete application includes: 1) updated CVs of the faculty applicants; 2) a proposal, not to exceed two pages, that details the event and the significance of the event for enhancing research and/or teaching for participants as they pertain to one of the two themes above; 3) a complete cover sheet. Applications should be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Application deadline: November 7, 2016
Notification of Award: December 1, 2016
