From: Diana Hamilton, Acting Director, Baruch College Writing Center
Dear Members of the Faculty:
I invite to you to nominate strong student writing from your spring classes for inclusion in the Writing Center's online journal, The Lexington Review. We typically send this invitation before finals—my apologies for the late reminder! We understand that you might not have electronic copies of your student’s writing, but if you send us the writers’ names, emails, and any other details, we can reach out to invite them to submit.
The Lexington Review publishes research, scholarship, and creative work by Baruch College undergraduate and graduate students. We welcome writing from any discipline, and are especially interested in student work that facilitates teaching and learning. In other words, it doesn't have to be perfect—it just needs to be something from which other students could learn. We're eager to publish work in all disciplines.
Our hope is that this journal serves as a resource for both faculty and students. If you'd like to help improve student writing in your classes, send us one or two pieces that provide strong models. You can use them in your classroom, and we'll use them in the Writing Center to help other students understand the expectations of and approaches to college writing.
Please email your nominations to LexingtonReview@baruch.cuny.edu in whatever form you have. Submissions are always welcome, and we work through them on a rolling basis.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
With warmest wishes,
