From:  Regina A. Bernard, Associate Professor and Interim Chair, Department of Black & Latino Studies

The Department of Black and Latino Studies is excited to announce our upcoming series: “Historical Fiction Writing Workshops,” with our Visiting Professor and Bestselling Novelist, Cynthia McLeod Ferrier. You can see more about Cynthia at the end of this announcement.

Through a series of 10-workshops, Cynthia McLeod Ferrier will be teaching/facilitating workshops for students who are interested in Historical Fiction writing.

All participating students will gain not only an incredible opportunity to study under an established writer but will also have a completed fiction piece of their own to share. These workshops are FREE of charge to all enrolled Baruch students, but seats are limited and regular attendance is mandatory! This is a wonderful opportunity for young and interested writers to gain professional mentorship in an exciting genre at no cost except their dedication and excitement.

Please announce this program to your students and colleagues. If you can identify writers among your students who would really benefit from this program, please encourage them to sign up.

Workshops will be held from October-November on varying Tuesday & Thursdays during club hours. Write to Sandra Nieves at Sandra.Nieves@baruch.cuny.edu or call the Department of Black and Latino Studies at 646.312.4440 to sign up.

Seats are limited, and are filling up! We look forward to engaging students from across the disciplines and throughout the Baruch College community.
