Greetings,
This semester's GIS (geographic information systems) Practicum, Introduction to GIS Using Open Source Software, will take place on the following Fridays:
- October 12th
- November 9th
The day-long workshop runs from 9am to 4:30pm. Baruch & CUNY graduate students, faculty, and staff, Baruch undergraduates, and Baruch CAPS students are eligible to register. Advance registration is required; the fee is $30 and includes a detailed tutorial manual and a light breakfast. Visit the GIS Practicum page to learn more and to register: http://guides.newman.baruch.cuny.edu/gis
If you're interested or have colleagues or students that may be, please pass this info along. Seats filled up rather quickly last school year; 58 people participated from throughout CUNY (42 graduate students, 12 faculty, 3 staff, and 1 CAPS) from a variety of disciplines (public health, public administration, sociology, business, library science, and more).
Hope your fall is off to a good start.
Best - Frank
